WP2 - Epithelium integrity: from pathologic regeneration to homeostasis

We aim to characterize the cellular mechanisms involved in physiologic and pathologic tissue regeneration, to better understand and target epithelial tissue integrity after the cell death induced by chronic inflammation. To this end, we will:

  1. Characterize the regeneration defect in alcohol-related hepatitis.
  2. Characterize the involvement of the innate immunity in alcohol-related hepatitis.
  3. Assess the impact of innovative prevention, diagnosis and screening strategies on the future burden of chronic liver diseases using mathematical modelling approach and large epidemiological databases.
  4. Decipher the epigenetic mechanisms involved in the transition between chronic inflammatory diseases and cancers.
  5. Unravel the interplay between macrophages, fibroblasts and epithelial cells in Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
  6. Explore the role of senescence in chronic inflammatory diseases.
  7. Explore the influence of ECM and fibrosis in regeneration.
